On this channel I talk a lot about different design trends. Some of these trends I love and others I don’t. In today’s video I will be going over design trends that I think will not age well in the coming years. 🛍 Shop My Favourite Items on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/shop/nicklewis 🛍 Shop This Video ➤Amazon – Bubble Candle https://amzn.to/3BpIS07 ➤Amazon – Neon Mushroom https://amzn.to/3S9LyEL ➤Amazon – Handmade Custom Neon Sign https://amzn.to/3PYSX8f ➤Amazon – Acrylic Coffee End Table https://amzn.to/3PGzedC ⏱ Timestamps: 00:00 – Designer Trends That Won’t Age Well 01:02 – Bright Color Plaster Walls 03:34 – Neon Plastic 05:32 – Wall To Wall Marble 07:42 – Really Sculptural Furniture 09:36 – Kooky Couches 11:31 – Boucle 15:47 – Open Shelving 🎬 My YouTube Equipment https://amzn.to/3Rcggfh 🛋 Shop My Living Room Background ➤ West Elm – Bar Cabinet https://bit.ly/3cssX6T ➤ West Elm – Media Console https://bit.ly/3PMKZOY ➤ Crate and Barrel – Dining Room Table https://bit.ly/3e0dStS ➤ Crate and Barrel – Dining Room Chairs https://bit.ly/3PTuUHd ➤ CB2 – Marble Coffee Table https://bit.ly/3wxliLk ➤ Amazon – Frame Television https://amzn.to/3wzEBnk 👉 All My Socials campsite.to/nicklewis 👋 Heads up! 1. Awesome video. Gave it a like just before your last point on open shelving….that one hurt a little bit lol

  2. Those wacky chairs really have an old Memphis Design feel about them, a look I loved as a kid in the 80s, but when I see it now it just looks like Pee-wee’s Playhouse.

  3. The “anaemic Scandinavian granny” look with plain wood beads, the colours sage, grey and taupe everywhere (e.g. a full kitchen in sage), and macrame will die as a full trend. That trend is trying so hard to avoid any life in your home. It’s like one of those arthouse films in which people walk around without saying anything in beautiful lighting, staring at each other. 1970s macrame was dead in the 1990s and then came back, it will die again.

Fully agree on the marble, it’s like eating caviar with everything just because you can. Especially when you put it into regular houses.

Re the design chairs: if you have the space and love to collect design this is a good opportunity to add to your exhibition or design-forward home once everybody sells them. The shapes look really fun and interesting. As everybody following trends will throw them out you will stand out in the future if you select well.

  4. If it makes you happy then whatever but keep in mind if you’re reselling other people may not have the same taste
